This natural adventure takes place in one of the most representative and exotic ecosystems of El Salvador's coastal plains, the Santa Rita Protected Area. This semi-humid tropical forest remains lush and green even during the dry season.

This guided tour will take you for a walk along a beautiful, interpretative forest trail over wooden bridges to one of Santa Rita's main attractions: Lizard Pond or Posa de los Lagartos. From a safe viewing distance on the observation deck, you can look down into the murky water and be privy to one of the biggest populations of Caiman cocodrile in the country, literally dozens of restless reptiles right before your eyes! This is a "must see" EcoExperiencia that can't be missed in the Forests & Mangroves region.

	By Car: Take the highway from San Salvador to Sonsonate. At the coastal highway bypass (before reaching Sonsonate) turn left toward the coast as if going to Acajutla. At "Kilo 5", turn right toward La Hachadura, the Guatemalan border. Drive 30.4 km. (18.9 mi.)
	By Bus: In San Salvador, take the 205 to Sonsonate. Then find route 28 or 259 goes to La Hachadura, the Guatemalan border. Ask the driver where to get off for Area Natural Santa Rita.
